Master Bedroom

Continuing my "Ta-do" list for my New Years Resolution I have moved on to the master bedroom. Reminder, I took these pictures "as is" they are in their natural state, no touch up, no clean up and really no attempt to salvage any reputation of being clean at all.

This is my bedroom. Not much to see I know. My bedding and bed are new. Shortly after that the dog got a little destructive and tore up the edge behind the hamper. Husband has nicely bought new sheets to "sew into a duvet cover" for our blue one that is un-salvageable.

-Sew new "duvet cover"
-Find permint home for hampers in closet
-Aquire decorative pillows
-Find two side tables (miss matched due to uneven sides)
-Find new alarm clock and fan
-Make decission on lighting in room and put it to use
-Make/buy head bored or wall art

The curtians. Hump. They are left overs from the other house. I am not opposed to keeping them, they match. I just think they need some help. So do the fue wood blinds. They dont open and are very dusty. You can also see the cord to the lamp (not in this picture) that is our only light sorce in the room. Yes that is a problem and a reality!

-Rehang curtians
-Solve blind problem
-Solve light problem
-Paint walls Blue (actually depends on how well the "duvet" comes out)

This is also a hand me down piece of furniture. It came from my parents. It belonged to their bedroom suit long before I was born. Their beds and various furniture have come and gone, but this piece stayed until their new home. Luckly we were in the position to take it off their hands. It has a spotted stain design that would make it difficult to match if we ever needed too. Impossiable actually because no one in their right mind would ever do that again. But it is functional. However it needs my spin to it.

-Clean off the un-needed (i.e Lamp shade and plant for starters)
-Make it more functional and stylish

Told ya I had some "Oh NO SHE DIDN'!" pictures. Example A. This is my closet. Needless to say it needs organizing. Actually it is organized, but it needs shelves and more rods to keep it that way. The large crumpled up canvas was at the beginning of the week our hamper, but it had an unfortunite accident with the stairs and the supports broke. Now it resides here for unknown reasons. I laid claim to the floor of the closet and hubs has the top. Thus floor to ceiling clothing. Oh yeah, also towels, robe, and suitcases.

-Organizational system (the wire kind you put together your self)
-cleaning

That is the Masterbed room in all of its need to be cleaned glory. Actually it is clean, the laundry just needs to be done. I dusted and vacummed just the other day. Recaping...

-Sew new "duvet cover"

Any suggestions? What should I do with the head board wall art situation? Know how to sew a duvet cover? Should I make it removeable so I can wash it? Have any great closet organizational tips?

  1. I had a duvet cover that had buttons on the inside. You put the duvet inside and then folded the material over and buttoned it and it worked great! I never felt the buttons and it was really easy to take off and put on. I'm not sure how to sew one though.

You COULD find some decorative pillows you really like and then buy a canvas at hobby lobby and blow up a design from the pillows on it to use for wall art. I did it for our bedroom and it was really cheap and went great...until we changed our sheets!

AND I know that lowe's and home depot have a ton of closet organization sets including the wire kind!
