Dear Jane

I went to a local quilt meeting on Monday. This group of women have been working on a Dear Jane quilt for two years. Some longer then others. they welcomed me into their arms yesterday and I sewed my first block by hand!

Why by hand you ask? Because each block only finishes at about 4 inches square. Notice the quarter in the picture. Its small. This took me about an hour to make from start to finish. I even had to go at a snail pace because someone had to teach me to trace, cut, and sew. Can't say I have ever worked with such pieces.

After doing this oh... 225 or so times I'll get something along the lines of...
But if you have seen or met me you'll probably know a bunch of traditional prints aren't my style. I thought I would mix it up a bit!
So I was prepared to do a white and shades of purple toned quilt. I thought this would be great and very out of my normal color range.

I figured it would look similar to this image (went looking for it after my idea!) BUT I found something else. Something so much cooler then a mono tone (at least what I think right now)
Meet Rainbow Jane!

I know right? Don't you instantly fall in love with her? I did I did so much that I came up with this.
Its my word chart on how to lay out the DJ blocks by color. I already have all the patterns copied now I just have to trace the templates and cut out the pieces and I'll be ready to sew. HA! Simple right?

If you cant read it or dont' care to count its 13 blocks square and then it has the triangle boarder. I haven't decided if I want to do the boarder. It makes it 84inch square if I do. Which barely covers a twin length wise I think. Such a shame because this will be beautiful if I can fallow through with it!

While googling imagines I also found this number...
Now... black or white???
